Velvet Worm

Folded and designed by me from a single uncut square.

For a while I had an idea for a base that would result in a long body and many pairs of legs. I recently tried it out and it worked, though the body ends up far thicker than I expected. It is made without box pleating and uses diagonal symmetry.

It ends up with a full 18 pairs of legs plus the "antennae". There is actually enough paper to make a 19th pair, though it ends up too close to the head.
