Narrowboat Elk 2
Narrowboat Elk moored on the Trent & Mersey Canal at Broken Cross Rudheath.
She was built at nearby Yarwoods shipyard on the River Weaver in 1926 for Fellows, Moreton & Clayton Ltd and was subsequently owned by The British Transport Commission and British Waterways before being sold into private ownership in 1985. At one time a full length cabin was added and she was painted battleship grey. This has now been removed and she has been repainted in traditional livery.
