Summer 2012 Northwich Boat Rally : Former ICI packet James Jackson Grundy moored on the river Weaver, just downstream of Town Bridge.

She was built in 1947 by Yarwoods, just up the river and between 1948 and 1980 carried soda ash from the ICI plants at Winnington and Wallerscote to Liverpool and Birkenhead docks. She was then sold to Northwich Sea Cadets and used as floating HQ.

She was sold again in 2001 and following refurbishment was used from 2010 to carry imported grain from Liverpool to Sutton Mill Quay, Frodsham.

Some years later she was put up for sale again, possibly for conversion to a houseboat.
