Ferrari 288 GTO by IXO

Meet IXO's interpretation of the Ferrari 288 GTO.

As usual, enjoy the over-processing along with some of my rambling!

IXO focuses on the budget model range and mostly 1/43s. This model is no exception. The shape seems a little off from some angles. And the chrome details could be nicer. The tailpipes are a particular letdown with their lack of depth and unsubtle chrome work.

I also wish the vents, especially on the bonnet and engine cover, were more defined. Admittedly, perforated sections would be asking a lot for an entry level model.

The interior is a treat however: nicely defined seats and console, with the daintiest gated shifted I've ever seen. Adorable!

What will always surprise me is how much better detailed on average these small models are compared to budget 1/18th scale models from years ago. (Bburago and Maisto I'm thinking of you <3).

For example, the window gaskets are painted proper black, and I get at least one closed side window on the passenger side.

Yes, one window is up; one is down. I'll live with this; the interior is easier to see that way!

Thanks for stopping by!
