Conduit Street
Life in the 1940s and 50s life included much walking, walking to the shops, walking to the bus stop, walking home again, then along came the private motor car, now even the shortest trips are made in the private vehicle, it’s convenience has made us all incredibly lazy. These three ladies would not have thought twice about walking two miles to pick up groceries, then carry their purchases home again, not today
