Bangalore or 'Bengaluru' as it is rightly pronounce is the capital of an Indian state Karnataka and covers around 741 areas. Srivatsa Krishna, permanent secretary of e-governance for the state of Karnataka was once attending a Chinese-sponsored high-tech conference in San Francisco and made the case for “Why India rocks, Bangalore roars and Silicon Valley will soon be Bangalored.”

 

It is a known fact that Bangalore is the largest IT hub of our country and is well known as “Silicon Valley of India”. Besides of its flourishing IT industry the city is beautified with cleanliness, historical monuments and gardens. The traffic rules there are strictly followed and every individual there contributes to keep their city clean. Here are the best places to visit in the city when you have a day’s time.

Vidhan Soudha

 

 

You can start your trip by visiting this extremely beautiful Assembly house and click some pictures with the National Flag. There are two buildings here one is older and the bigger one is newly constructed. Both the buildings are beautiful and one can have a feeling of driving through Rajpath, Delhi at this location of Bangalore. As on the opposite side of this is a Red Building, the High court of Karnataka.

Cubbon Park

 

 

The biggest park of the city is the best place to relax. With concrete benches amidst trees and greenery it is the best hangout place for children and elderly crowd. The public park extends up to 100 acres of land is a best spot for nature photographers.

Bangalore Aquarium

 

 

Located at the entrance of Cubbon Park it was constructed in 1983. The charge for an adult is Rs.20 and aquarium is open from 10 am to 5.30 pm. The aquarium is flourished with a variety of exotic cultivable and ornamental fish on display.

Visvesvaraya Industrial and technological museum

 

 

This museum is at a walk able distance from Aquarium is the best place to many technology demonstrations. Want to make your child know how a four stroke engine or a wind mill works, this is the perfect place. All the science concepts are beautifully explained and demonstrated. It is a must visit place for school children, your child will definitely aspire to become a physicist or an engineer after being here! ;)

Lalbaugh Botanical Garden

 

 

The botanical garden is approximately 240 acres big and is a house to many species of trees and flowers. So if you are interested to know them all it is the perfect place to spend your day here.

Bangalore Palace

 

 

The history of Bangalore resides here, now distributed among the children of Maharaja HH Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar . Srikanta Datta Narsimharaja Wadiyar is the current owner of the palace and has opened it up as a tourist spot for them to witness the king style life. The palace has royal paintings, thrones and much literature belonging to the British era. The entry to this palace will cost you Rs. 250 with additional charge for your camera. Iskcon Temple

 

 

The charitable society with the agenda of propagating Krishna’s consciousness worldwide has constructed this beautiful and huge temple. Located at Rajajinagar, Sri Radha Krishnachandra temple is one of the biggest temples. The original temple design started in 1990 estimated to cost Rs. 10 crore gave way to a more stunning, unique architectural model that cost Rs. 32 crore. The construction started in 1990. Six hundred skilled craftsmen spent more than 10 million man-hours to construct this architectural wonder.32, 000 cubic meters of stone, 131,250 tons of cement and 1,900 tons of steel were used in construction. Subsequently the temple construction was completed in 1977.

Indira Gandhi Musical fountain Park

 

 

The heart of the city lies here, the best place to end your Bangalore trip is the musical fountain located at Raj Bhawan Road enroute airport. The park entry opens at around 6.30 pm in the evening and the half hour show starts exactly at 7 pm and later 8 pm. Established in 1996 it is the first ever musical fountain constructed in India. Around 5 to 6 different Kannada and Hindi songs are played here and the water fountain dances with the tune of each song.
