Phyang Gompa
Phyang (Inde) – Cette photo a été prise dans le village qui s’articule autour de Phyang Gompa, l’un des plus anciens monastères bouddhistes tibétains de l’État indien du Ladakh. Fondé au XVIᵉ siècle, le site religieux se trouve à une vingtaine de kilomètres à l’ouest de Leh.
Je suis venu en ce lieu à l’occasion de la grande fête lamaïque qui, chaque été, à la fin du mois de juillet, attire les croyants de toute la vallée.
Je précise que la dame à droite ne téléphone pas, malgré son attitude. La photo a été prise en 2011 à une époque où, dans les montagnes du Ladakh, personne ne possédait de smartphone. Ce qui n'est plus le cas aujourd’hui. Une attitude pour le moins zen ou prémonitoire.

Pyang (India) – This photo was taken in the village surrounding Phyang Gompa, one of the oldest Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in the Indian state of Ladakh, founded in the 16th century. The religious site is located about twenty kilometers west of Leh.
I came to this place on the occasion of the great Lamaic festival which, every summer, at the end of July, attracts believers from all over the valley.
I should point out that the woman on the right is not using a phone, despite her attitude. The photo was taken in 2011, at a time when, in the mountains of Ladakh, no one owned a smartphone. This is no longer the case today. An attitude that is, to say the least, Zen-like or prescient.
