Cette photo en est la démonstration, d’autant que notre pirogue à voile n'était pas bien grande. Sept mètres de long pour 80 cm dans sa patrie la plus large. On est loin d'un bateau de croisière de luxe. Les sanitaires ? Il n'y en a pas. On est dans l'utilitaire traditionnel, dans le rustique. Une telle pirogue est conçue avant tout pour la pêche. Alors passer plus de 10 h sur un tel engin... Quand on arrive enfin à destination, rincé dans tous les sens du terme, on imagine déjà que dans deux jours, va falloir faire le chemin inverse. Heureusement en se mettant au fond de la coque on peut allonger les jambes. Ce n'est déjà pas si mal. Dans un taxi de brousse, ce n'est pas possible. Chaque type de transport a ses avantages et ses inconvénients.
Stéphane qui est sur la photo est l'équipier de Laurent le piroguier qui se trouve à l’avant de l’embarcation. Ils ne sont pas trop de deux équipiers pour une telle aventure car le vent fléchit régulièrement et il faut alors avancer à la rame.
