Etretat (France) - L'équipe de tournage du documentaire consacré à l'écrivain Guy de Maupassant, effectue les ultimes réglages pour l’une des nombreuses séquences.
Nous sommes dans la maison de l'écrivain normand. Aujourd’hui, la villa appartient à un particulier qui y réside. Ce n'est pas un musée. Même si le propriétaire fait parfois visiter le jardin sur rendez-vous.
La séquence va montrer le réalisateur-scénariste Christian Clères assis dans un fauteuil lisant un livre de l'auteur. Un plan fixe qui s'inscrira dans le film sur fond de voix off.
Vous ne voyez pas le réalisateur puisqu'il est hors champ (voir la photo suivante). Etant donné la position des techniciens clés au mur, il n'était pas possible d'avoir une vue générale. Ça n'a guère d'importance car je cherchais à photographier les techniciens.
Tout était prêt pour filmer, mais l'équipe m'a laissé quelques instants, afin que je puisse faire ma photo. Le chef opérateur en profite pour peaufiner sa mise au point.

Final settings
Etretat (France) - The film crew of the documentary dedicated to the writer Guy de Maupassant, makes the final adjustments for one of the many sequences.
We are in the house of the Norman writer. Today the villa belongs to an individual who lives there. It's not a museum. Even if the owner agrees to show the garden sometimes.
The sequence will show director-screenwriter Christian Clères sitting in an armchair reading a book by the author. A static shot that will be part of the film against a background of voiceover.
You can't see the director since he's offscreen (see the next photo). Given the position of the technicians, it was not possible to have a general view. It hardly matters because I was trying to photograph the technicians.
Everything was ready to film, but the team gave me a few moments so that I could take my picture. The cinematographer took the opportunity to fine-tune his focus.
