Manakara (Madagascar) - Cette famille de pêcheurs s’apprêtait à monter dans la pirogue pour un destination inconnue. J’ai bien essayé de savoir où elle allait, mais le père comme la mère ne parlaient que le malgache et n’ont pas compris ma question. Ce dont je suis certain, c’est qu’ils n’allaient pas traquer le poisson en mer, ni le vendre sur le marché car ils n’y avait ni filet, ni poisson dans l’embarcation. De toute façon, on ne va pas pêcher avec sa femme et des enfants si jeunes. C’est trop dangereux.
Je me suis reculé pour attendre que la pirogue soit mise à l’eau. Mais cette petite fille qui était déjà là regardant droit devant s’est retrouvée dans mon champ de vision. Je me suis légèrement déplacé et accroupi pour l’intégrer dans la composition. Intriguée par ma présence elle a tourné la tête vers moi. J’ai déclenché à ce moment car son regard donnait plus de force à la photo. Finalement, c’est elle qui devient le sujet principal de cette scène.
