On range les filets
Tangalle (Sri Lanka) - Le ciel est gris ce matin là sur le port de pêche de Tangalle. La lumière va bientôt se réchauffer, mais je ne le sais pas quand je prends cette photo en regrettant que la colorimétrie ambiante ne soit pas plus favorable. La scène est intéressante mais l’ambiance est fade.
Quand j’ai cadré cette scène, tranquillement, sans me presser, le marin sur la gauche était en entier dans ma composition. Au moment où j’allais déclencher, il s’est reculé dans un mouvement rapide et élégant pour tenter de démêler le filet. Je n’étais pas satisfait car je n’avais pas été assez réactif pour anticiper.
Après réflexion, j’aime bien cette photo plutôt rythmée. Même si je pense qu’un tirage noir et blanc aurait été plus adapté. Mais je pense que si l’on photographie en noir et blanc, c’est à la prise de vue, pas pour rattraper une version couleur moins satisfaisante. J’assume ce choix.

Tangalle (Sri Lanka) - The sky is gray this morning over the fishing port of Tangalle. The light will heat up soon, but I don't know when I take this photo, regretting that the ambient colorimetry is not more favorable. The scene is interesting but the atmosphere is bland.
When I framed this scene, quietly, without hurrying, the sailor on the left was entirely in my composition. Just as I was about to trigger, he pulled back in a quick and elegant movement to try to untangle the net. I was not satisfied because I had not been reactive enough to anticipate.
After some thought, I like this rather rhythmic photo. Although I think a black and white print would have been more suitable. But I think if you shoot in black and white, it's when you shoot, not to catch a less satisfying color version. I accept this choice.
