Former Petrol Station - Chollerford Car Sales, B6318, Chollerford, Northumberland.
This was one of two petrol stations in the village of Chollerford, this one survived longer than the other around the corner.
The only two street view images of this site selling fuel were both from 2011, appearing to be an independent site.
During the fuel selling era, it can be seen that the totem pole top section is section is missing and the canopy is in an unusual colour scheme which I asked Chris Barker about, before i saw the photographs that he had taken on the site back in 2022.
Chris did suggest that this could have been a Proteus site and another possibility that prior to Proteus this could have been a Burmah site, with another theory that the Burmah diesel pump could have been brought in as a replacement for the previous pump.
In the present day the two pumps are still sat in an adjoining yard although one pump is still on the forecourt and connected, so maybe still in use.
I'm not sure when fuel sales had ended but street view doesn't offer any clues with over a decade between the last image as an operational filling station and to what it looks like in the present day.
I did find out that this was a BP station in the 1960's from one of the gentlemen that was here in the office.
