This is probably the earliest photo taken of Twells Garage which started under the name F Twells (Fred) as a blacksmith in 1928 before going into car repairs.
The photo shows the local doctor who owned the very first car in the village filling up with fuel.
Twells later become a Ford dealer in the late 30's also being involved in the haulage industry but spending the last four decades as a Vauxhall dealership.
Pratts, Esso, Q8, Murco fuels were sold until the fuel forecourt closed in 2016 to focus more on the car sales business.
