Chasing Auroras
Was out last night chasing the aurora borealis. The aurora forecast scale was at a 9 and the field of coverage stretched from north of us to as far south as Seattle, Toronto, and all of the maritime provinces.
So I was expecting big things, like the whole sky being filled. At 10:30 the glow started to appear on the horizon and teased from time to time with some minor flares. By 12:30 am I went home in frustration, with this image the best I could get.
I'm sure that at 2:30 or so they would have been awesome when I was fast asleep. Alas, such is the fate of aurora photographers, it seems.
