Big Dipper
While waiting for the aurora to appear tonight, took a test shot of the big dipper for focus and exposure. I kind of like the shot, and the aurora is just beginning to appear on the right side of the image. Hope it doesn't cause too much eye strain to find it.
Some of the city lights provide the nice orange glow.
My son, Kevin, who joined me on the photoshoot, had his headlamp on briefly before he realized I was taking the shot and scrambled to shut it off. It happened to provide just enough light in the foreground to make the image more interesting. Happy accidents do occur!
