Gathering Room
A gathering room in an abandoned county home, aka “poor asylum” in rural Indiana. This building is the third building that housed the asylum. It opened in 1930 and closed in 2010. The facility was finally put back on the market in February 2020 and was sold just a few weeks later, and it sounds like the new owner wants to restore the facility so it can serve the surrounding communities once again.
This photo is of an old gathering room. Here residents would attend religious services, read, converse, play games or just take in the beautiful views on all sides through the large windows.
