Heir To the Empire

Heir to the Empire is the First book in Thrawn trilogy

 

This book definitely had the old Star Wars feel. You get that 70's movie vibe.

 

Let me just say I almost put down the book; But I HATE dnf-ing books, so I pushed on. The story only got going (to me at least) in chapter 16.

 

Leia's character felt off to me. We saw her diplomatic side, her loving sister and wife side; her quick thinking. And while we did see her in action, it lacked any of her snarky fighting spirit that she shows in the movies.

 

This is also the book where Luke meets Mara Jade. Some of you will know why that's important. I don't want to spoil anything though.

 

I'm just gonna say that I actually learned a lot throughout this book. I liked the

 

It ended with the perfect kind of cliffhanger though. :)

 

Oh, and am I the only one who didn't know how to spell this word : rendezvous. That is NOT spelled phonetically people. I saw the word in the book and was like "what is that?" So I looked it up and had to shake my head at my ignorance. .......and I called myself a logophile.

 

Anyways.......

 

I gave this book 3/5 stars.🌟

 

And I'm considering picking up the next book.
