This is the London and North Western Railway version of the station, the former Midland Railway station (which situated next to/close by to this station), was closed in 1967.
There is a through line just outside the railway station which goes towards Chinley, which is for freight use only.
Since May 2018, Buxton station has 2tph to and from Manchester Piccadilly (via Stockport).
Before May 2018, Buxton had 1tph to and from Blackpool North. Today, no services now go beyond Manchester.
