Worsley - Worsley Green Monument

The view of Worsley Green Monument, in Worsley (Salford).

Until 1903, Worsley Green was originally known as "Worsley Yard", the centre of an industrial complex when work began on the surface canal.

Worsley Yard included: a boat building yard, timber yard, motor hill, wheelwrights, nail makers, basketmakers and a warehouse.

£5.5 million pounds was spent on repairing and restoring both the monument and Worsley Green, including other canal related projects within the area.
