East Didsbury Railway Station

The view of East Didsbury Railway Station, facing in the direction towards Manchester Piccadilly. The opposite direction is towards Manchester Airport, Wilmslow and Crewe.

 

The route also acts as a diversionary route for West Coast Mainline services from Manchester, with services to London, Birmingham, Cardiff and beyond.

 

Before COVID-19 restrictions, East Didsbury normally had 3 trains per hour servicing this station, including:

 

  •  1tph Manchester Airport - Chester/Llandudno,

  •  1tph Crewe - Liverpool Lime Street (via Manchester Airport & Newton-le-Willows),

  •  1tph Manchester Airport - Barrow-in-Furness/Windermere

 

Since COVID-19, the timetables have been altered to reduce to 2 trains per hour, which are now:

 

  •  1tph Manchester Airport - Chester/Llandudno,

  •  1tph Manchester Airport - Liverpool Lime Street (via Newton-le-Willows).

 

Near to this station also is the Metrolink tram stop terminus for tram services to/from Oldham and Rochdale. There is normally 10tph from the tram stop.
