Heaton Park - Dower House
The exterior view of Dower House, within Heaton Park.
This building was originally built with plain brick but was later redeveloped and transformed with decorative columned facade in 1803.
The wall in front, also known as the ha-ha, was made to stop cattle from grazing on the lawns in front.
In 2004, it became the home of the Manchester and District Beekeepers Association, with behind the building becoming a Apiary.
In front of the building, is one of Manchester's 'Bee in the City' statues, with each statue having different variations and designs that symbolises Manchester. These statues were scattered and placed within different areas of Greater Manchester within summer of 2018 and were later auctioned at the end of September 2018.
