28 February, presidential candidates and political parties signed a national peace pact "committment to peaceful elections and to garantee peace and national unity in Timor-Leste in the 2012 national elections- " The ceremony was organised by the National Electorale Commission CNE and culminated in a debate featuring 12 out of the 13 which was broadcast live on RTTL.
