The Aurora Australis
The Aurora Australis (or Southern Lights) is a natural light show in the southern sky caused by charged particles from the sun colliding with gases in Earth's atmosphere. A long exposure brings out the full colours. This photo was taken as the Aurora was starting to become visible, only a little more than an hour after sunset, which is unusually early.
Near Fitzroy Falls in the Morton National Park, New South Wales, Australia.
