Development- CAD Model
As well as making a miniature cardboard model of my chosen storage cabinet design, i have also made a 3D CAD model of the design using SketchUp. I took five screenshots of the CAD model, each one at different angles, to help easily show the whole of the design.
On this page i wrote about why i decided to make this CAD model, as well as my cardboard model and i also talked about what developments i have made in this design from the cardboard model and original drawing of the design.
I have explained that the main reason why i created this CAD model as well as the cardboard model, is because for the CAD model, i could create it to a more accurate size and make all of the dimensions more accurate, compared to the cardboard model.
The developments which i have made to this CAD model from the cardboard model and the original drawing include the fact that i have not included the door from the original design, in either models. I have explained on this page the reason why i haven't is because i won't have much room in the space where i want to place this cabinet in, to even open the door fully. Other developments that i have made include the fact that i have added in an extra shelf at the top of the cabinet, in the CAD model.
