Nine Post Fixture at Nine Mile Hill • 2023 09-28
Some kind of... drainage-related? –installation on Nine Mile Hill at the western border of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The town is in the Rio Grande River basin below, with the Sandia Mountains on the opposite, eastern border.
Honestly, if anybody knows what this installation does or what it's for, please Comment! I even did google lens searches on photos of it and could not find a likely analog. I could only determine it was installed between 2018 and 2021.

Breaking Bad universe: This spot on west Central Avenue/Route 66 is precisely where, at the very end of Better Caul Saul episode "Axe and Grind," Kim Wexler makes a fateful U-turn bailing on her trip to an important Santa Fe meeting, in favor of dealing with a her and (future-Saul) Jimmy's plot to set up their colleague, Howard. This installation is visible on the right in the crane shot looking down on Kim's car as she U's it.
—Never mind that the actual road here heads west out of 'Burque toward Gallup, rather than being on some road leading north to Santa Fe. Gotta wonder though if they chose the Route 66 concluding location in honor of it being Season 6 Episode 6 (6-6)!
