Imposing Ruins of the 12th Century Church at Reculver, England

This was the site of one of the earliest Roman forts in Britain in 43AD built to protect against Saxon Raids. It later became the site of an Anglo-Saxon monastery and later the church in 669AD whose remains you see here. The Towers were added as part of a reconstruction in the 12th Century.

Reculver is situated near Herne Bay in Kent, England.
