Jerez Spain

The Alcazar of Jerez de la Frontera is a former Moorish fortress. The first fortress was built in the 11th century when the city was part of the small kingdom of the Taifa of Arcos de la Frontera. After the conquest by the Almohads, the castle was further expanded in the 12th century. Some doors from the original Islamic fortress have been preserved, as well as the mosque, the Arab baths, the octagonal tower and the patio of Doña Blanca.
