Lothlorian Riverside
My Entry for a Lego Ideas contest.
See my other account for a WIP that is much more raw and that I prefer artistically.
This is a real physical build. I used white paper for the ground, but not in the back. Otherwise there would have been too much white shimmer. I edited the background later.
The black water is also just bricks and the reflections are real and not processed.
This is not supposed to be a specific landmark. I rather tried to capture the elvish spirit with organic and elegant architecture that blends in with nature.
Nature itself was of course one of the main aspects to make it feel elvish and therefore the trees dominate the scene. To me my model looks looks pretty similar to the scene where the fellowship leaves Lothlorian.
I had some more white organic structures that looked like large flowers first but the reflections looked a bit messy so I replaced them. Working with natural reflections is always tricky and trial and error. It is best to have a rather minimalistic build to make it work.
