A light in the dark

I am still struggeling to take a decent picture. So I will probably replace this one here :-)

Don't zoom in :-) This build works really well from a distance but looks bad when looking at every brick.

The timber wood section in the third house from the left is not connected, the roofs are a bit fragile and I didn't care to connect the chain links on the ground. Otherwise this is a solid model and with a few change it could be presented at exhibitions.

But then there are no exhiitions (Feb. 2020 for the record) and I am going to need the pieces anyway :-)

I didn't use any reddish brown here to keep the build dark and muddy and only very few pieces old brown.

The doorway is overexposed but I didn't know how to handle the extreme contrast properly without dimming the whole picture too much - yes, I still suck at taking pictures after all this time...

Tutorials coming on Instagram in the next days/weeks.

Just some notes:

the windows use leaves in the back to achieve a half plate space.

- you can see this also at the 5th house. The wooden shutters also use leaves in the back.

- the door of the 5th house looks similar but is made with clips and bars - there are 4 mm hoses in the 1st door

- the wooden decor of the 1st houses basement are minifig hips. I used so many legs so I used the hips, too.

Artistically I am not quite satiesfied with the picture. It's much too bright. Though this also depends which kind of screen is used. I have WIPs where the street is totally toned down and the doorway glowing.

But it's not that easy working just with daylight. I mean I have to choose an angle so that I get enough light in the back to lighten the doorway.

But I also need to adjust the angle in a way that the whole build doesn't just look flat. Usually the only room in my flat that has decent light is the bathroom. But I can't install a build that size there and still have space to place the camera and papers. ARGHHHH
