return to go
The last round of Get Pushed for 2011 had me paired with the lovely Laurie2123 and her challenge to:
illustrate through your photography your New Year’s resolution, or a resolution you refuse to make, or your wish for the New Year.
So I thought back to a year ago, having just finished a 365 and ready to find out what was waiting on the other side of the daily madness that had become such a big part of the way I saw each day. If 2010 was about discovering my camera and letting it change the way I view the world, 2011 was about trying new things and challenging myself in new directions. It wasn't with the same ferocious drive, but it was pictures that felt true to me and hopefully showed how I've grown. In recent months I lost some of my steam as other commitments took over, but I'm so grateful for the groups and wonderful Flickr friends that continually make this place the source of inspiration and community that it is. It's your own photo journeys that keep me coming back and looking to grow further.
So cheers to the new year. To moving forward. To seizing opportunities. To finding the playful side again; rejoining the game and letting go of some of that over-thinking that has a habit of getting in the way of the natural flow of moves. And since I started the year with a Cliche Saturday, I can't think of a better way to end it. It's been too long since I jumped in and played along on the weekend and that's one resolution that I can happily make.
HCS and thank you again Laurie for your inspirational challenge and more importantly, the inspirational words that had me return to GO.
Wishing you all a wonderful New Year and looking forward to seeing where it takes you.
