Corporate Governance in SWFL
Financial Policy (FIN4443-Capstone) students recently had the opportunity to learn first-hand from community experts. The students went through a two-class sequence on corporate governance. Mr. Jim Hale, former General Counsel of Target Corp., and Mr. Paul Greig, current Chairman of the Board for California-based Opus Bank joined all sections. The first class in the module involved students presenting what they learned about corporate governance from their own research, followed by a discussion led by our experts. The students were then assigned a local company, with the task of examining the governance practices of the firms. Each student team reported their findings for the second lesson.
