Last night we watched this very informative webinar on Mistletoe and woodland birds.

When you consider one of the first research findings they mention you begin to wonder whether there is some tie with the loss of Mistletoe with some of the birding sites that have had such steep decline in bird populations. Woodlands Park comes to mind. A recent ebird survey commented that the back paddock was an "avian desert". Our last trip there confirmed this description. 100m into the paddock and there wasn't a bird to be seen or heard.
We will certainly be more vigilant in observing the amount of mistletoe in our birding areas.
This is definitely a worthwhile video to watch.
