Legendary LNER Pacific Class A4 Pacific No. 4468 Mallard in Garter Blue and valances on static display in front of the South Shed at the National Railway Museum in York during the A4 'Great Reunion' on 6th July 2008. The event celebrated the 70th anniversary of No. 4468 'Mallard' breaking the world speed record for steam traction on 3rd July 1938 and intended to reunite Mallard with three more A4's - 60019 'Bittern; 60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley & 60009 'Union of South Africa' for the first time since their heyday. Regrettably No. 60009 'Union of South Africa' missed the photographic display, as it failed whilst working a special charter from York and No. 60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley' was tasked with hauling the return trip.
