This originally opened as Higbee's in October 1969, as the Great Lakes Mall was expanded to add a fourth anchor. In August 1992, Higbee's was converted into Dillard's. In August 1994, this store became known as Dillard's South as there was another Dillard's store that had opened in this mall in the former Horne's space, I am unsure why Dillard's decided to put two locations in the same mall. In May 2017, the Dillard's South name was changed back to Dillard's as the second Dillard's location in the mall (Dillard's North) had closed down.
