One Mile Lake

One Mile Lake is a picturesque lake located at the entrance to Pemberton, right off Highway 99. It serves as a central hub for outdoor recreation and social life for the local community.
Recreation: During the summer months, the lake is a popular spot for swimming, paddle boarding (SUP), and canoeing. The water temperature is generally warmer than the higher alpine glacial lakes, making it ideal for a dip.
The Trail: A scenic boardwalk and gravel path loop around the entire lake. It is a flat, easy 20-30 minute walk that provides beautiful views of the surrounding mountains reflecting on the water's surface.
Connections: The lake acts as a trailhead for numerous mountain biking trails and hiking routes that connect directly to the village of Pemberton via the valley trail system.
Nature: The area surrounding the lake features forests and wetlands where visitors can often spot ducks, swans, and other local birdlife. It is also a perfect spot to observe the changing seasonal colours of the vegetation.
