Origin of the Name: The name "Fountain" comes from early French settlers (La Fontaine), referring to the natural springs found in the area. This land is traditionally tied to the St'at'imc First Nation.
Gold Rush History: During the Fraser River Gold Rush (1858), Fountain served as a vital supply hub and a transportation junction where several trails met on the way to the northern goldfields.
Agricultural Activity: The ranch is well-known for its agricultural production in a semi-arid environment. Thanks to irrigation systems, the area produces hay, fruit, and local produce, providing a lush contrast to the surrounding dry, rugged mountains.
