*Rustic Coins - mix w/ Gilders paste close C
So much fun! I wanted to use the technique I used on my dusty blue polymer clay birds to make some beads for a new look for my dangling necklace. So here are the results and I love them! I started with a solid mix of white, blue, yellow and orange clay. Next I made patterns with silicon molds (made from impressing other clay pieces), a found object, and some old dental instruments. I used black pearlex powder on all these pieces to bring out the pattern. After curing, I sanded with 600 grit sandpaper and waxed with Renaissance wax. Finally, I used iris Blue and Red gilders paste to play with the colors. Oh...some of these are colored with chalk before I cured them...you have to figure out which ones!
