Getting a better vantage point

The same heron stretching its neck as far as it could go. Compared to other herons, Green herons have surprisingly thick, chunky necks, as compared to the thin, narrow necks of the other heron species that co-occur with it. Perhaps because it needs more muscles to lift its prey?
