Mill "De Hoop"

De Hoop is a flour mill built in 1901 in the Dutch village of Loenen aan de Vecht. This windmill replaced a predecessor that burned down in 1900. The fire was probably caused by a steam engine that was used for grinding. De Hoop was in operation until 1949 and ground wheat for baking bread. After that, the mill was used as a grain silo for a long time. In 1963 he came into possession of the former municipality of Loenen.
