The Treasure in the Desert

Sandstone arches are one of the subjects which made me addicted to landscape photography. I was always amazed about this famous sandstone arches in the U.S., let's say Mesa Arch or Delicate Arch in Utah. The situation there is absolutely ridiculous. For sunrise or sunset, you find 20 or 30 tripods there, waiting for the best light. This arch here, which exact location will not be named here, I discovered by myself. I did a small scouting trip shortly before the actual shooting. Then I went out right before sunrise. I lowered my expectations because I was unsure if the light would catch on the arch or not. Well, it was a true magical experience as the golden glow got more and more perfect. And the best of it all: I had the place absolutely to myself. What an experience.
