We Receive You Loud and Clear

All started as a pretty ordinary Friday evening. Sky was too clear to promise a special sunset. So I went to the sofa, after a day of renovation and gardening work. But then first messages from the local newspaper popped up. The mailing list on my local astronomy club became more and more active. A solar storm! Northern lights has been appeared already during sunset. This are really rare chances in southern Germany. So I checked the satellite weather and the space weather. Kp-9, they said - the highest category! So I picked up the camera, a few other items and went to a spot with good sight. And omg, it was worth it.
