Cube Houses Rotterdam
A classic view on the cube houses in Rotterdam. I was going for a shot of the harbour on the same location, but with the light that morning it didn’t work out. So this is one of those typical plan B shots, which isn’t always a bad thing however! It was a real challenge to position the camera on the stairs, lens straight up, and find the exact spot for the best symmetry. Shooting with 15mm, literally every inch to the right or left made a distortion. It was a cloudy morning, with just a bit of light coming through and I really like how it slightly brighten the tips of the houses. Although the image worked with the cloudy, and almost flat sky, I decided to create a long exposure effect in PS, which for me just provides that extra interest to the image. A pleasant surprise this morning and the harbour has been put on the list for next year.
