The wall of monastery and Prison Tower

The angle of the walls at the entrance to the fortress was built considerably later than the rest of the fortress, approximately in the second half of the 17th century. Originally from the Prison Tower to the St. Nicholas Church there was a continuous wall. The addition of a new corner of the walls made it possible to strengthen the defensive power of the fortress. If the enemy broke through the first pair of entrance gates, he found himself in a stone sack under the firing of three towers - Petrovskaya, Prison and Nikolskaya.
