Leaving the Tour Early (1)

After a late-notice change of plan to turn the LSL Chairman's Train stock in Preston for the final run home, Locomotive Services Limited Class 37/4s, 37401 "Mary Queen of Scots" and 37409 "Loch Awe" clag through Hartford on their way back to base running as 0Z37 1427 Preston to Crewe Holding Sidings VSTP.

The 37/4s had originally been due to work the Chairman's Train to Crewe on the final leg of his Easter UK-wide tour, however in order to get the set the right way round for the run to London, the train came off the S&C and into Preston to reverse, rather than direct onto the WCML at Lostock Hall Junction.

The onward electric traction then attached to the south end of the set at Preston (rather than the original plan of Crewe) and the 37s came off the north end of the rake to run back light to Crewe.
