Double Trouble (1)
After GB Railfreight Class 92, 92028 experienced intermittent ETH issues earlier on in its journey from Edinburgh on 1M16, Sleeper Control decided not to risk any major issues further south, so halted it at Carlisle.
Sister locomotive 92018 was then diverted from its ECS/shunt duties in the Central Belt and hot-footed it to Carlisle to take charge of the service for the remainder of its journey.
The hiccup with the hotel power resulted in the Caledonian Sleeper Up Highlander being 137 minutes late at Hartford and eventually arriving into Euston 152 minutes late.
The driver originally due to work 1M16 from Preston to Crewe was relieved by one of his Crewe colleagues as the delay to 1M16 would've put him over his hours. He was then due to get an Avanti service back home to Crewe, but this was cancelled, so he ended up getting a lift in 92018 anyway!
