Freightliner's Class 47/4, D1645 / 47830 "Beeching's Legacy" was pressed into action in the small hours of 12/03/2024 after 66532 failed on 6Y23 whilst on its way to a possession in the East Manchester area (Ashton Moss North Junction).
47830 was dispatched from Basford Hall as 1Z99 0100 Crewe Basford Hall SSM to Earlestown to recover the Rail Drop Train from the Up & Down Loop and was captured in the rain at Hartford as it returned it to Crewe on a revised 6Y23 0200 Earlestown to Crewe Basford Hall SSM VSTP path.
The Brush Type 4 then ran back to Earlestown as 0Z99 0310 Crewe Basford Hall SSM to Earlestown to collect the stricken Shed and return it to Basford Hall as 0Y23 0430 Earlestown to Crewe Basford Hall SSM.
