Deltic Delight at Night
I'll admit to not being the world's biggest Deltic fan, but was blown away (almost literally!) by the sight and sound of Locomotive Services Group's Class 55, D9000 / 55022 "Royal Scots Grey" storming through Hartford at 90+ mph.
On its return to mainline passenger action after many years, D9000 was working the return leg of InterCity's "Deltic Delight" (1Z56 16:02 Newcastle to Wolverhampton).
The loco looks absolutely stunning - hand-painted the old-fashioned way with brushes by the ex-Crewe Works master painters at LSL.
