Job Stopped

GB Railfreight Class 92, 92020 “Billy Stirling” sits in Crewe's Platform 6 with the Caledonian Sleeper Down Highlander (1S25) faced by a sea of red lights - the service being held for over 90 minutes due to an unfortunate incident at Winsford.

Unusually, 1S25 was stopped 'short' at signal CE149 (rather than CE151) to keep the option of a diversion via Manchester open had a pilot been found. In the end, no-one with a Baker Atlas was forthcoming so Driver Steve and 92020 just had to sit it out.

Meanwhile, on Platform 5, DB Cargo's EWS-liveried Class 66, 66103 also waits it out with 6F73 19:13 Saltley Dunns Siding to Liverpool European Metals (MDHC).
