400 Mile ECS Shunt

After a lineside fire the previous evening at Cambuslang had resulted in the OHLE being turned off and the Scottish-based Class 92s and Lowlander stock being trapped at Polmadie, a special ECS move was required to get the stock from the cancelled Up Lowlander south ready for the Bank Holiday weekend travellers.

In what has to be one of the longest depot-to-station ECS moves to form a service, GB Railfreight's 92010 worked the set direct from Polmadie to Euston - a journey of around 400 miles.

The extended ECS is seen passing through Acton Bridge as 5Z96 13:00 Polmadie Carriage Maintenance Depot to Euston.
