Rare Run On The Highlander
Having departed Crewe 13 minutes late, what the driver of the Caledonian Sleeper Down Highlander (1S25) really wanted was a pacey member of the GBRf Class 92 fleet to claw back the delay.
Unfortunately, he was in 92018, which is the most sluggish of the fleet. That said the service still managed to arrive into Preston 30 seconds early.
92018's tardiness also means it is generally kept away from the Highlander, as its lack of pace isn't helpful on the southbound services south of Rugby when in and amongst the Pendolinos. Hence, seeing it on the Highlander is somewhat of a rarity currently.
